Portraits of Steve : My first outing with my new 70-200mm 2.8L IS lens. Steve is my husband and most agreeable model when I need to try something new! These were taken in a wooded area only steps behind where I live where there is a ghost town like setup that is used for a haunted house tour in the fall..great backdrop for photography! Compliments accepted, but criticisms appreciated..I know there is much to learn! Most of these are straight out of the camera with only a little contrast or brightening in some cases.

* I added some new shots today (6/14/09) of Steve, testing out my new Canon Speedlite 580EX ll Flash. He is such a good sport!!!

Logan - June 2008 : My Great Nephew Logan at 2 years and 3 months. He is so animated, smart, energetic, funny and good humored it brings tears to my eyes to just look at him! This is my way of capturing a little of him and bring him home with me from Tucson where he lives. Of course it is hard to capture constant motion...keep that in mind!!! If you do see this gallery, please leave a message and let me know you have been here and seen a little of this wonderful little guy, too!

Logan and his Hot Wheels! : After our photo shoot near the colored paper at Kinko's while "Mamie" (Grandma - my sister-in-law) made copies, Logan told me his favorite 'Hot Wheels' was his garbage truck. I offered to take pictures of the truck the next day when I came over. Wouldn't you know it? The first thing he said when he came to the door the next day was he wanted a picture of the garbage truck. After we took it he wanted to see it on the screen and after he exclaimed "That's so funny" he went and got another and another of his Hot Wheels for us to photograph. He was very serious about the process and held each car very carefully as you can see....of course each time he asked to see the camera and said, "That's so funny" as he went to get another car.

2008 Shemin Family Portrait Session : Low light at sunset made some of the shots on the grainy side. I was actually a little nervous trying to do this "shoot" of my family, but am very happy to get some shots that we all will enjoy looking back on. It was great fun and we had some good laughs together doing it. Thanks Steve, Andrew and Sam for one of my best Mother's Days ever!!!

Mostly LOGAN : A trip to AZ April 2007. Lots of shots of my Great-Nephew Logan and then some with his Mom and Dad, Grandmother and Uncle. We have a few with us, too, of course. I need to get back and see him more often....He is growning and changing and becoming more and more wonderful every day..!!!
